Established in 1997
Purchased originally as the 'Colony Diner' by Gus and Penny Apostolopoulos, the West Orange natives quickly made renovations to the restaurant, staff, and menu. After about a year, they decided to change the name to 'Caldwell Diner.'
With business booming, Gus and Penny later bought the North Star Diner in Wayne, NJ and operated the diner for about 5 years. After selling that diner, the Apostolopoulos' had their sights set on something new. In 2007, they bought Bruschetta Restaurant in Fairfield, NJ which they still own.
Taximi, Greek Cuisine, was another venture for the Caldwell Diner owners. Formerly the 'Rainbow Diner,' Gus and Penny bought and renovated the restaurant in 2011 to create their own authentic Greek restaurant in town.
The recent renovations to the diner include a handicapped accessible front enterance, handicapped accessible bathrooms, and beautiful woodwork and tilework all around the interior.
Whether it be homemade corned beef hash, buttermilk pancakes, pastries baked on premises, pork osso bucco, fresh 1/2 lb. hamburgers, or fresh grilled paninis, there surely is something to tantalize your taste buds at the Caldwell Diner!
