Caldwell Diner has been a downtown Caldwell tradition since February 20, 1997. Family-owned and operated for nearly 30 years, we’re proud to be a classic New Jersey diner where neighbors gather for award-winning French toast, hearty breakfasts, weekend brunch, and dinners that go well beyond the expected. Walking into this diner feels like taking a step into New Jersey history. I had a wonderful experience and the waitstaff was very cheery and nice to me. I loved the ambiance and the colorful string lights on the ceiling give this diner a great vibe. I ate the teriyaki pork chops and they were pretty good. i got broccoli and french fries on the side. the broccoli is normal steamed broccoli and the fries were well above average. I had the house salad as well and the tomatoes were very fresh (even though i was eating at 9:30 pm).

Service was fast and good. Food was above average. My husband ordered the omelet and I got 2 eggs one without the yolk with corned beef - eggs were cooked perfectly sunny side up and runny just how I like it . I read the good reviews about their cheesecake and got it and it surely did not disappoint. It was the exact texture I enjoy in a cheesecake. Cute little spot. Better than most diners out there for sure.

Arrived at about 0915 on a Sunday and was seated in a booth immediately. We were offered beverages immediately. We both ordered 3 egg omelets (western & vegetable) which were served with hash brown potatoes and a choice of toasts. Both portions were generous. I also ordered a side order of bacon which was prepared exactly as I had requested. Menu was expansive and service was attentive and friendly. By 0930 the diner was full with a waiting line. Parking available. Good meal , great coffee.
